Mission Statement

The mission of CLASS is to support people with disabilities as they explore options, participate in the community, and strive toward equality. We are... Working Toward A Community Where Each Belongs.

About CLASS (Community Living And Support Services)

Community Living And Support Services (CLASS) is a nonprofit organization offering a variety of individualized services to adults with disabilities and older adults. These services include residential services, community skills training, support employment, in-home and community-based supports, structured day program for people with brain injuries, assistive technology, outreach, and advocacy. CLASS believes that all people have a valuable role to play in our communities. It strives to provide self-directed services that are unique to the individual needs and preferences of each person. The organization advocates and creates opportunities for people of all abilities to live, work, and play in the communities of their choice.

In the past, proceeds raised through the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community allowed CLASS to fulfill our mission of Working Toward A Community Where Each Belongs by helping to build an accessible home for our Residential Services, finding inclusive activities for children through the CLASS Kids Program, and assisting with the capital campaign for its headquarters in Swissvale. Funds raised from our participation in the Highmark Walk For A Healthy Community will help offset the costs of operating programs and activities in the community.
