About Neighborhood Learning Alliance

Neighborhood Learning Alliance has been providing services to lower income Pittsburgh and first ring suburban neighborhoods since 2003. Our programming focuses on two primary populations - elementary and high school students with its primary focus on children of color.

Our elementary programs provide afterschool and summer programs for between 500 - 700 children per year across 9 Pittsburgh Public and 2 Wilkinsburg elementary schools. The programs prioritize serving children who are behind grade level. The high school programs work with up to 200 students per year and focus on providing experiences for our youth that help to best prepare them for the transition from high school to college. The students take college classes at CCAC and Carlow and have internship experiences across a number of careers.. NLA provides lots of personal and academic supports as the students make their journeys from high school to college.
