2020 Achieva

Mission of Achieva

Achieva envisions a community where all people with disabilities lead lives of personal significance.

AboutAchieva

Achieva was founded in 1951 by a group of family members who all desired the same thing, to ensure their children with disabilities had the same chances in life that all children should be given. Their commitment helped to establish a nationwide movement, changing the history of isolation and segregation for children and adults with disabilities.

Achieva is the only agency of its type in western Pennsylvania that provides lifelong support, including early intervention therapies, diverse housing options, employment services, and special needs trusts. These direct services are in addition to free advocacy and family support - foundational services on which Achieva was built.

Achieva is a nonprofit parent organization that has comprehensive services and supports through its several affiliate organizations, serving thousands of people with disabilities and their families each year. Affiliates include The Arc of Greater Pittsburgh, The Arc Erie County, Achieva Family Trust, and Autism Connection of Pennsylvania.
