Welcome to Nina & K9 Kevlar's Page!
I have personally been involved in Search & Rescue since 2009 - just completing my 15th year! In that time, I've witnessed the unwavering dedication, bravery, commitment & resolute blood, sweat and tears of my teammates and agencies we work with to bring home a missing family member.
When responding to a search, we are usually encountering families on the very worst day of their life. But even though the work may be difficult - with the help of our talented K9 partners, we are able to complete the task and bring those lost and missing individuals back home.
Why NESAR?
NESAR has been serving our neighbors and our nation for over 50 years!
Our K9 search units, water rescue/recovery units, and wilderness evac units regularly work emergency search throughout Eastern and Central Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and beyond. Our team members - both human and K9 - have been integral to search and rescue/recovery operations in the aftermaths of the World Trade Center attack, Hurricane Katrina, and Hurricane Sandy.
We are on call 24 / 7 / 365. (Anyone who's been around me for any length of time knows we get calls any day, any hour, any weather!) In an average year, we receive calls for approcimately 50 searches for missing people and log 10,000+ search and training hours.
As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on our fundraising efforts (and very often our own wallets) to finance the equipment, personal gear, and specialized training necessary to fulfill our commitment to the communities that we serve. With your support, we can continue to bring home lost and injured people - hikers, campers, hunters, dementia patients, young children (often with special needs) - and respond when your friends and neighbors are threatened by hurricanes, floods, and other disasters in our region.
Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500.
How far can your dollar go?
