About Evolution Expressions Arts for Healing

Evolution Expressions, non-profit, was officially founded in 2017 with the mission to assist healthy youth development through strengthening families. Our philosophy is that we primarily exist for the betterment of families; and we were founded upon the vision of providing a safe environment for the youth in our community.

We strive to strengthen and empower families through nurturing and compassionate behavioral and mental health counseling; with an agency and community wide vision for all of its members, regardless of age, ethnicity, race, disability or religion, to be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. Individuals involved in the Evolution Expressions Arts for Healing Program are offered a safe place in the community to learn positive coping skills, connect with peers and community supports and gain opportunities to participate in healthy arts related activities with trauma-informed staff.

This program is unique because we provide therapeutic counselors, staff, interns and volunteers who work to help children combat the effects of trauma through the use of art techniques and help build life-long emotional coping skills. We have been able to progress towards this mission through offering 6 different trauma-informed groups: Arts For Healing groups for children and their families in need of specialized support; Mom's support group for mothers with children involved in counseling services; ALLIES- a support and educational group for youth on the LGBTQI spectrum; Zumba Fitness for children to experience the psychological benefits of exercise; J.A.M.- Juveniles Appreciating Music- to allow children to process their emotions through a musical outlet; and the BREATHE group (Building resilience and empowering abilities through healthy exercise) to help children get outside and reduce stress through physical wellbeing.

Additionally, throughout the year, we offer multiple family-focused events and opportunities to strengthen family bonds and create memories.
