The Arc of Blair County

Mission Statement

To improve the quality of life for individuals with any type of developmental disability through advocacy, education, recreation and support. The Arc of Blair County serves people from birth through life that have a delay in learning such as speech delays, Autism, AD/HD, reading delays, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome or other learning support needs by offering social programs, educational workshops, materials, resources, guidance, and advocacy at no cost.

The Arc of Blair County serves individuals, and their families, from birth through life, with a disability. It is the vision of The Arc of Blair County that all individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities live fulfilling lives, are fully integrated into the community and are vibrant members of society. We value individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by honoring abilities, respecting choices, helping achieve possibilities, and supporting safety and health.

Classes are offered throughout the week on a variety of topics because The Arc recognizes that each of us is unique and have different interests. The Arc of Blair County is committed to educating individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to offer experiences that enhance self esteem and cultural inclusion. Advocacy is available at no cost, both in the school systems and within the adult agencies. Resources abound and protecting the interest of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is a paramount focus.
