Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower families through relationships and skill-building to move from homelessness to home.

About Family Promise Harrisburg Capital Region

Family Promise Harrisburg Capital Region serves local families with children experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

EVICTION PREVENTION

Once an individual has an eviction on their record, it is much more difficult for them to find housing. That's why we provide eviction prevention programming such as our Wheels UP Program with funds for vehicle repair/purchase and Move UP for back rent/utilities to help them avoid eviction while they get the benefit of intensive case management to help them avoid falling behind again.

Wheels UP provides funds for vehicle repair/purchase.

Move UP provides funds for back rent/utilities, helping families avoid eviction, while they get the benefit of intensive case management to help them avoid falling behind again.  Funds raised during the walk will go to toward our Move UP program to help families avoid eviction or move into permanent housing.

SHELTER PROGRAM

Our Inter-Faith Hospitality Network keeps local families with children experiencing homelessness together while they are getting back on their feet. Instead of separating males over the age of 14 from woman and children, we utilize a network of congregations and faith-based organizations to provide a safe and secure place for the families to sleep while they spend their day at our Day Center in Camp Hill working on their case management goals such as getting a job, arranging child care, figuring out transportation, and finding their home.

ROAD TO SUCCESS

One of the main barriers to permanent housing is receiving a family-sustaining wage. That's why Family Promise is a case management site for the United Way's Road to Success program which is designed to eliminate the barriers to jobs that pay a family-sustaining wage.
