Did you know....
1 in 10 children are sexually abused by their 18th birthday.
90% of abused children are abused by someone they know and trust; 30% are abused by immediate or extended faily; 60% is committed by acquaintances, teachers, neighbors, or community leaders.
70% of children who are sexually abused are abused by a peer.
Less than 5% of cases in child abuse and neglect are found to be false.
Stewards of Children®, the flagship program of Darkness To Light, teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, through videos of adults with lived experience. Funds collected for the YMCA Highmark Walk team will go towards the costs of training and materials,
