Mission Statement

Powered by a passionate group of volunteers, Caitlin's Smiles encourages children with serious health challenges to explore their uniquely creative talents by taking part in arts and crafts activities. While creating feelings of self-worth and instilling confidence in these children, the efforts ultimately put smiles on the faces of everyone involved.

About Caitlin's Smiles

Caitlin's Smiles provides arts & crafts to children in medical facilities through our arts & crafts outreach programs. These creative experiences provide valuable family time and boost their self-confidence and self-worth while they deal with stressful medical issues. Our organization is a Pennsylvania-based non-profit out of Harrisburg. Thanks to supporters, we are able to reach hospitalized children in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Since 2004, we have reached 2.4 million children. We like to call what we do "Sending Smiles."  Caitlin's Smiles is a charity founded in March 2004 in honor of Caitlin Hornung. She passed away at age seven after battling cancer for almost four years. Despite the tiring treatments and long hospital stays, Caitlin managed to keep a positive attitude by finding joy in creating art.
