Mission Statement

The mission of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape is to work to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of sexual assault.

About Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape

We need your help.

High-profile cases of sexual harassment, abuse and assault captivated our attention last year, sparking conversation and highlighting the serious and widespread issues we face in Pennsylvania and beyond.

We watched as Andrea Constand and other women courageously testified about the sexual abuse they endured at the hands of comedian Bill Cosby, leading to his conviction. We heard survivors and their families describe the life-altering impact of sexual abuse after the latest Grand jury report in Pennsylvania revealed decades of graphic abuse of over 1,000 children by more than 300 Catholic clergy members.

Several legislative and judicial leaders were publicly identified in sexual assault allegations--and those stories reminded us of the many reasons victims decide not to disclose after an assault. The #MeToo movement kept the spotlight on similar experiences of countless survivors

The persistent focus on sexual harassment, misconduct, and assault in the news has empowered victims to finally speak their truth, seeking help and resources--and increasing the need for our services.

That's why we need your help.

We're working in communities across the Commonwealth and beyond to change the culture that allows sexual harassment, abuse, and assault to thrive in secrecy. We're making prevention possible, sharing resources to ensure victims get help and working with journalists to help reshape the way we think about sexual harassment, abuse, and assault.

But our work is not complete. Everyone can do something to invest in a future where our family, friends and loved ones are not subjected to sexual threats and violence.

Together, we can end sexual violence.
