Mission Statement

The Salvation Army Harrisburg provides a broad focused, front-line approach to serving our community with compassion, dignity and respect, helping move those we serve from dependence towards wholeness as we endeavor to build up body, mind and spirit.

About The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region

Each year our Harrisburg office assists over 20,000 children, families and senior citizens within our service area of Dauphin, Eastern Cumberland and Perry Counties. Our diverse outreach programs include Family Services (weekday breakfast feeding program; food, clothing and basic needs assistance; Emergency Disaster Services), HAVE self-sufficiency and education programs, and Children & Youth Programs designed to provide the tools and opportunities to help at-risk young people succeed.   Support for Salvation Army programs in the Harrisburg area is provided by the generosity of the local community. As such, we are committed to responsible stewardship of resources entrusted to our care. In fact, 82 cents of every dollar raised by The Salvation Army Harrisburg directly benefits programs and services for those in need. Thank you for your support and consideration of The Salvation Army and the people we serve.
