New Castle County winters can be brutal. Often as many as 50 days of the winter reach temperatures below 20 F. These are "Code Purple" days where Friendship House, using space generously donated by Sts. Andrew and Mathews, offers emergency sanctuary from the elements to our homeless friends living on the streets. Teams of volunteers prepare food and offer friendship to as many as 200 homeless men, women and children each "Code Purple" day. Please consider joining Team Code Purple in the Highmark Walk. If you can't walk with us please consider making a donation to our team or one of the team's participants.
