About The Music School of Delaware

It is the mission of The Music School of Delaware to provide excellence in music education, training, and experiences for people of all ages and levels of ability. Founded in 1924, The Music School of Delaware is a nonprofit organization that reaches thousands of people from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland through its instructional programs and over 120 public performances each year. Students from 185 public and private schools, as well as home schoolers and adults, participate in music school programs. The school offers private lessons, classes, ensembles, master classes, workshops, competitions, camps, and festivals in classical, rock, jazz, and folk.

The Music School is the only nationally accredited program of its kind in Delaware and is the only statewide accredited community music school in the nation. Reaching annual enrollment of approximately 2500, the Music School offers standard-setting instructional programs for all ages and has a faculty of nearly 90 expert artists and educators with branch locations in Wilmington and Milford and over 20 satellite and outreach sites statewide. The school is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of community members from throughout the area. Nearly 90 experienced faculty members are led by a Dean and a President who hold advanced music degrees and have a combined experience of over 55 years in music administration/education.
