Friendship House, Inc.

Mission Statement

Based in New Castle County, Delaware, Friendship House is a non-profit organization in service to those that are or are at risk of becoming homeless. Welcoming to all, Friendship House strives to serve as a sanctuary and a stepping stone to each person in need through the traditional spiritual ministries of hospitality, education, empowerment and community.

About Friendship House, Inc.

WE NEED YOU! Once again Friendship House has a generous donor who will donate $1,000 to Friendship House for each team that recruits 20 walkers and raises $2,000 ! Join an existing team or form one of your own. If you can’t make it, donate to your favorite team or walker. 100% of the money raised goes to the programs of Friendship House. In 2017, Friendship House staff worked with over 1,500 volunteers to serve more than 6,000 homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in New Castle County. Our main ministries include Empowerment Center Day Programs (Wilmington, Newark, Middletown, Millcreek), Transitional Housing Programs (men's and women's), Clothing Bank of Delaware (job readiness program and distribution of donated clothing to the needy), and Winter Hospitality (programs offering sanctuary from the cold weather including Code Purple, Sunday Breakfast and morning hospitality).
