Welcome to My Page!
PA Women Work is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming women’s lives through empowerment, employment and economic independence. Our FREE programs provide career development assistance, computer training, job placement and career mentoring.
I have been involved with PA Women Work since 2001, first as a volunteer and now as a staff member. I have had the privilege to meet many women who have experienced incredible hardships and have transformed their lives. One of these women is Ionie Evans.
At age 37, Ionie Evans suffered a severe back injury that left her unable to walk — but after months of recovery, she was ready to get back to work. “I was worried that it had been too long, and that no one would want to hire me,” she explained.
Ionie and her daughter found PA Women Work and completed the New Choices program in Sept. 2017 where she mastered new computer skills, updated her resume, practiced job skills and learned how to handle professional experiences. “New Choices helped me bolster my confidence and made me realize I wanted to go back to school,” Ionie said. Before attending the program, Ionie didn’t see college as a possibility for her future, but the class changed her perspective.
Ionie is now working to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh. After she graduates in April 2020, she hopes to work with people with disabilities or seniors.
By donating to PA Women Work, you are allowing us to be a helping hand for a woman in need. Your gift will provide women who are struggling with access to life changing programs.
Please consider making a donation on my behalf to support my fundraising campaign and help more women, like Ionie, achieve their dreams, find stability and become financially independent.
Thank you for your support!
