Arc Human Services
Arc Human Services' mission is to serve people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental illness in a manner that allows them to fulfill their ambitions, protects their rights and fosters meaningful relationships at home, at work, and in their communities.
About Arc Human Services
Arc Human Services is a nonprofit provider of employment and training, housing, and support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health (IDD/MH) diagnoses. Arc Human Services helps people of all ages with these challenges in a matter that allows them to fulfill their ambitions, protect their rights and foster meaningful relationships at home, at work and within their communities.
Funds raised through the Highmark Walk will support Camp Laughalot, a year-long integrated program serving both children and adults with IDD/MH diagnoses. Launched by Arc Human Services in 1999 as a two-week children's camp, Laughlot has grown into a fun, interactive environment promoting fundamental skill development to build self-esteem, create relationships, and encourage communication techniques for more than 250 participants annually. In 2015, the Camp expanded from a summer only camp to add winter camp, a spring informational event, and ongoing monthly activities. Throughout the year, Camp offers a total of eight weeks of engaging activities, 20 unique community outings, and a minimum of eight social events.
