About Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh

As one of the first six programs for intimate partner violence victims in the nation, Women's Center & Shelter has been a leader in the Battered Women's Movement since 1974. We are not just a women's shelter, and more than just a collection of services for domestic abuse victims. We are a team of passionate, dedicated individuals fighting for the rights of women everywhere. Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh is more than an emergency shelter for women experiencing domestic violence and their children. It is a safe harbor that provides specialized care and support for women who have experienced all types of intimate partner violence from physical to emotional through Emergency Shelter, Legal Advocacy, a 24-Hour Hotline, Support Groups and more. Women's Center & Shelter has been a trusted and respected resource in the Pittsburgh Community for more than 40 years, offering hope and healing to women and children who have suffered from the devastating effects of domestic abuse.
