The Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania is committed to improving the quality of life for people with Spina Bifida and their families by providing a continuum of support services, education and advocacy.

About Spina Bifida Association of Western PA

The Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania (SBAWP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, especially spina bifida by providing a continuum of direct services, education and advocacy. SBAWP programs assist those with spina bifida and related disabilities gain strength and joy from their friendships, their jobs, their health, and their lives. SBAWP provides services to children, adults, and their families throughout Western Pennsylvania.

SBAWP programs assist individuals to maximize their potential and to lead productive and independent lives. Through our programs, we create encouraging, supportive environments where children and adults with disabilities can make friends, learn important life skills, prepare for living and working within the community with supports. Current programs provide everyone with a disability a chance to glow and someone to lean on not only today but also tomorrow. Programs include: Community Based Services for Adults; Gatehouse Program; STRIVE Program; Wellness Program; BluePrints Family Networking Group; Family-School Partnership; FireFly Summer Camps and Year-Round Weekend Retreats.
