About Vintage, Inc.

Vintage is a Center for Active Adults located in the East End. We serve approximately 125 people per day and approximately 1,000 unduplicated participants per year. The focus of Vintage is providing health and wellness activities for older adults. We have a fitness studio that has several cardio options and weight training machines. There is a trainer available to help participants with any questions they may have. We also have classes in yoga, Tai chi, Silver Sneakers, Enhanced Fitness, and soul line dance. We have a full time Information and Referral specialist that helps our participants with health benefits, taxes, social security, transportation, and many other services. Vintage is a licensed provider of a Chronic Disease Self-Management program originally designed by Stanford University for people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, hypertension, diabetes or heart disease. This program is organized as a 6-week workshop series and is led by 2 peer leaders, older adults who themselves have chronic conditions. There is 20 years of research showing that this program is very effective in reducing symptoms (such as fatigue and pain) and increasing positive health behaviors (such as exercise and communications with physicians).
