About Providence Connections
Established as a nonprofit organization in 1994 with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Divine Providence Hospital on Pittsburgh’s Northside, Providence Connections strengthens families and enriches lives through comprehensive education and developmental opportunities for parents and children.
Providence Connections is a premier family support and child care center that serves all families located on Pittsburgh's Northside, many of which are well below the poverty line.
To help all our families overcome some of the challenges they face due to a decline in public services, Providence Connections provides a continuum of care for children from 6 weeks to 11 years of age in the form of child care, curriculum-based early childhood education programs, a summer day camp, and after-school programs.
In addition to our enriching child care options, Providence Connections also houses Providence Family Support Center which offers adult enrichment classes designed to help all parents become self-sufficient, obtain and retain employment and develop positive parenting skills that often were not modeled in their own childhood homes.
This two-pronged approach aimed at helping families thrive despite facing many hardships is unique and ultimately successful as we are proud to report that last year alone we have served more than 400 children and their families.
