The mission of the Wyoming County Cultural Center at the Dietrich Theater is to function as a non-profit movie theater whose revenue supports cultural and educational programming for the underserved population of Wyoming County and surrounding communities. For us cultural and educational programming includes the fields of: music, theatre, visual arts, crafts, media arts, folk arts, humanities, multi-disciplinary arts, science, nature and health & wellness.
About Wyoming County Cultural Center at the Dietrich Theater
The Wyoming County Cultural Center serves the underserved children and adults in the rural community of Wyoming County (population 27,800) and surrounding communities including Dallas, Clarks Summit, Montrose, Wyalusing, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Our patrons range in age from the very young to senior citizens. Many of those we serve are underprivileged. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, 54.5% of students enrolled in the Tunkhannock Area School District in the 2017-2018 school year received free or reduced lunch. With limited resources, the cultural, health and wellness and educational opportunities available through our organization offer exposure to learning experiences and activities that are otherwise unavailable to the residents of Wyoming County and surrounding communities.
