Mission Statement

Pocono Search & Rescue, Inc. (PSAR) is a not for profit organization of highly trained volunteers dedicated to providing 24 hour search and rescue assistance at the request of responsible agencies.

About Pocono Search and Rescue, Inc.

The PSAR team is comprised of specially trained and experienced, 100% volunteer members. The team is fully equipped for nearly any terrain and environmental conditions, night search, and extended operations. Team members participate in drills monthly and attend specialty classes as much as possible. Because PSAR is fully volunteer, the team relies on funds from fundraisers and other donations to cover expenses for training, vehicle and safety/rescue equipment, as well as travel expenses.

PSAR has various specialties within the team, such as Ground Search, K-9 teams, Water Rescue, High Angle Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Care. Team members have specific training in search management, first aid & CPR, land navigation, technical rescue, wilderness survival, and communications. Many have state and national certifications in various related disciplines. PSAR members will respond to emergencies in any weather condition or environment, including national disasters.
