Christian Churches United of the Tri-County Area

Mission Statement

Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is calling us as congregations to be faithful to Him. In response to His call, we participate in witness to our unity in Christ by membership in Christian Churches United.Together we are called to be redemptive in our service, ecumenical in our action, prophetic in our direction, assembled in witness to those around us, and joined in our worship of God.

About Christian Churches United of the Tri-County Area

Christian Churches United is a partnership of over 100 member congregations in Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry counties addressing homelessness, incarceration and poverty. By working together, we maximize the impact of the local church community in helping others.

Our focus for the Highmark Walk is to reduce homelessness by raising $5,000 to:

  • Prevent family homelessness through CCU's HELP Ministries: helping families navigate crisis situations while maintaining housing. This is so vital for kids to have this stability when their families are going through difficult times!
  • End chronic homelessness through CCU's Susquehanna Harbor Safe Haven: a housing program for men who were living on the street due to disability. This amazing program has helped the community to reduce the number individuals living on the street in Harrisburg by almost 2/3's since it opened in 2009!

Together we can end homelessness for individuals and families in the capital region through the work of CCU!
