Mission Statement

Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) raises, trains, and places service dogs with both adults and children with disabilities to live more independent lives. We are fully accredited by Assistance Dogs International.

About Susquehanna Service Dogs

Susquehanna Service Dogs is a program of Keystone Human Services, Children and Family Services. Since its inception in 1993, SSD has placed 225 services dogs with people who have disabilities. SSD dogs assist children and adults with mobility, hearing, and psychiatric disabilities, as well as people with autism and also military veterans. Each dog is professionally trained to meet the individual needs of their Partner and complete tasks such as opening doors, retrieving items, assisting with daily dressing, or pulling a manual wheelchair.
