About ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter
The ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter supports people living with ALS and their loved ones through free education and services in 31 central and western Pennsylvania counties. All money raised provides help and hope for those living with ALS in western PA by supporting patient care, advocacy, and cutting-edge research to find treatments and a cure for this always fatal disease.
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. Although there is no known cure, every dollar helps in the fight to end ALS. Help make a difference today by donating or joining the walk..
